Hi Selena, just to add, I think a community is fundamentally about the peer-level many-to-many connections, based on shared values and purpose. A network can be a lot more one-dimensional, from the viewpoint of a single node and not necessarily reflecting a symbiotic relationship.

Hmm interesting, I do think you are right about shared values and purpose for communities, but I think networks can and do often have symbiotic relationships too, but do get your point

History does it best.

Emergence happens after disaster and finds its community and common place.

Then the church or state rushes in to put everything back in the box and control it, losing the small glimpse of autonomy that was discovered.

Commons communes into community.

Do you know of some successful communities and/or networks here on Substack? It would be super interesting to see how effectivr substack-ran communitirs/networks are.

OOh good question, I know some communities that have substacks but not aware of any that exist solely on substack I don't think.

Got it. I would be curious to see what are the biggest impacts Substack writers & their communities had on the world, so if you come across any let me know :)
